Ruben Amorim defends two of his players "The rumours are ridiculous."

Manchester United's midweek win over Ipswich was overshadowed by Alejandro Garnacho's controversial actions after being substituted. As the club prepare for Sunday's FA Cup fifth round tie with Fulham, the fallout from the game continues to draw attention.

Garnacho's Notable Behaviour

Manchester United's game against Ipswich was a crucial win for manager Ruben Amorim. However, not everything went smoothly. United's Patrick Dorgu was sent off, while Garnacho's reaction to being substituted early made headlines.

After being substituted, Garnacho left the pitch quickly without waiting for his team-mates, raising questions about his attitude in a club as big as Manchester United.

Ruben Amorim Speaks Ahead of FA Cup Match

Manager Ruben Amorim has spoken out ahead of this weekend's FA Cup tie, stressing the importance of defending the title won under Erik ten Hag last season. Amorim believes a win over Fulham will boost morale ahead of tough Premier League clashes with Arsenal and Leicester next month.

“A win on Sunday can do wonders for morale ahead of important games,” he said, underlining United's determination to improve their position in the Premier League table.

Different Views on Bruno Fernandes

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim has also spoken out against former captain Roy Keane's views on Bruno Fernandes. Fernandes has been criticised by Keane since the start of the season, particularly as United have often found themselves in the bottom half of the table.

Amorim said: “I heard about it - I have a different opinion. Bruno is really important for us in the club, especially for me. He played well in difficult situations and he always wants to take responsibility."

He also admitted: “Roy Keane has great standards from his time. But I think my opinion is more important than Roy Keane's because I am the coach.”

Garnacho Pledges to Pay His Teammates

Amid media attention to his actions, Alejandro Garnacho has responded positively. Coach Amorim confirmed that Garnacho has promised to pay for his teammates' dinners to make up for his actions.

“Alejandro Garnacho came to see me,” said Amorim. “It was funny because the next day he came to my office and talked about the problems. He watched the rest of the game but not from the bench.”

Amorim stressed that while the incident may have been a distraction, it was not a major issue. He insisted that at a club as big as Manchester United, every move is important and requires attention.

“So he’ll pay for dinner for the whole team and that’s it,” Amorim concluded.

Manchester United continue to face a number of challenges in the current period, from Garnacho’s high-profile behaviour to criticism of captain Bruno Fernandes. Coach Amorim’s determination to defend the FA Cup and improve the team’s form has been evident in recent statements.
