Mason Mount has no future at Old Trafford, Manchester United wants to sell him outright

Manchester United's talented young midfielder Mason Mount is at risk of being sold for cheap after two disappointing seasons at Old Trafford. Inter Milan are keeping a close eye on his situation and are keen to loan him out with a buy option, but United will still have to foot a portion of Mount's weekly wages during the loan period.

Current Situation

Mason Mount is currently under contract with Manchester United until 2028 and is valued at around £26.4 million by Transfermarkt. However, according to The Sun, United are willing to let him go for just £25 million, much lower than the £60 million they spent to sign him from Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

When he joined the Red Devils, Mount received great expectations from fans, especially when he was given the legendary number 7 shirt. But the reality has been completely opposite to what was expected.

Constant Failure

In the past nearly 2 years, Mason Mount has only made 32 appearances for Man Utd, contributing only 1 goal and 1 assist. Continuous injuries have caused him to miss a total of 8 months of playing time and at least 46 matches of the team. This is an alarming number for a young player considered the future of English football.

Mount is expected to return at the end of March, but with limited time, he can only play for more than a month before the end of the 2024/25 season. Although he was a key factor in helping Chelsea win the 2020/21 Champions League, persistent injuries have hindered Mount's development.

Consequences of Injuries

Injuries have seriously affected Mount's career. Recently, in the Manchester derby, he was injured in the 13th minute and was forced to leave the field. Mount's dejected walk has fans worried about his health. Although the extent of the injury is not yet clear, Mount's complicated injury history has many people skeptical about his recovery.

Mount has had a lot of physical problems since joining M.U. Fans are starting to worry that he could be a flop, especially when he has not shown his best form.

Expectations from Coach Amorim

Coach Ruben Amorim is considering using Mason Mount as an important factor in Manchester United's tactics. Before his injury relapse, the media reported that he was very impressed with Mount's performance at Chelsea, where he had flourished under coach Thomas Tuchel in a 3-4-3 formation.

However, Coach Amorim's plans may be delayed. He will have to wait for Mount to recover before he can use him in his squad.

Mason Mount is currently facing an uncertain future at Manchester United, with his long-term injury and poor form making him a target for a sale. Whether he can recover and rediscover his best form will largely determine his future at Old Trafford.
