Manchester United monitor Atalanta's Lookman, Pogba could return to Old Trafford

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United and Newcastle are keeping an eye on Atalanta star Ademola Lookman.

The Magpies have sent scouts to Atalanta to watch the Nigerian player, but Newcastle will have stiff competition when Manchester United also shows great interest in this player. After the quarrel with coach Gian Piero Gasperini, the future of staying at Atalanta is left open. After being looked down upon by the club coach as the worst penalty taker in the squad. The reason for this criticism is that Lookman missed a penalty against Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League.

According to sources from Fichajes (Spain), Manchester United also intends to bring Pogba back on a short-term contract when injuries continue to appear in the midfield position in the club. The French midfielder is no longer a Juventus player, he was previously fined for doping during the match.

This can be considered a son returning home, Pogba developed at the Manchester United academy, then he joined Juventus and showed his extremely sharp abilities. In 2016, when Mourinho was in position at Manchester United, he once again returned and helped the club win the Europa League championship.

Currently, Manchester United is having a major personnel cut and a strong squad rebuild. Some players have left the club on loan or may be sold next summer. 200 employees have just been cut from the club and costs have been significantly reduced. Last season Manchester United also fired 250 of its employees.

CEO Omar Berrada declared: "We have a responsibility to bring Manchester United back and to have a clear position, both in the men's and women's teams. We are forced to do unpleasant things to get the club back."

Previously, United announced losses of more than 300 million pounds ($379 million) over the past three years. This is also partly because the club does not have a clear policy in many redundant positions. More specifically, they recruit players at extremely high prices but do not meet the expectations of experts. The players arriving at Old Trafford all have record prices, but when they leave, Man United only earns a small amount of money.
